The Oyster House on Market by Day, O Bar by Night

One spot. Two venues.

O Bar was another stop on the Historical Pub Crawl. The first night I came here, we started with their $3 oyster shooter. A bit of spicy and a bit of vodka and a perfect little oyster nestled right inside. The only question left was chew or swallow. Its a personal preference. They set us up on a high top for ten. Copper covered tabletop and cool wooden stools. They had many craft cocktails and beers. Pints were filled with local taps, Holy City and Palmetto. We also had a taste of the House Fries. Too much cheese for me, but others raved. Oysters can be ordered one at a time, more than six choices from all over the country. The menu looked fabulous, so… I made it a stop on my private evening tour the next night.

This time we sat outside, The Oyster House on Market, on the covered deck. It was all about watching people and enjoying the goings on at the Historic City Market. Again, we started with the oyster shooter, because—- why not? Then an order of hush pupples with praline butter. The hush puppies were yummy, but the butter was to die for. My favorite of the place was the Surf and Turf Oysters. Spicy ground pork filled the oyster shell, topped with seasoning, spinach and onion, then a perfect deep fried oyster sitting right on top. The order came with five, so I ate two and a half. Sharing isn't always fun. I could have ordered five more, but we had places to go and apps to eat.
